...seem to be talking a lot about food

A bad evening made me want something chocolaty, and considering I try to not keep anything chocolate in the house: I made scones. Really good, gooey, chocolate scones.

A shot from my weekend

After craving a burger since Wednesday, I finally got the ingredients together on Saturday and made this on Sunday afternoon. (Super lean ground beef, bacon, and a fried egg...don't knock it until you try it.) It was accompanied by chocolate milk...my ultimate comfort food, and something I haven't had in at least a couple years. Dinner was then another burger, as was lunch today. That's the problem with cooking for one, you then have way too much food. I think dinner tonight's going to be another burger as well as lunch tomorrow, and I'll still have 3 hamburger buns left over...

I need boots...

When I woke up to find 6 inches of snow outside my door this morning, I began to question (again) how it is that I grew up in Alaska, and then lived 2 years in Utah as a pedestrian and still don't own a pair of good, flat boots. Which of course prompted me to go and look-up boots again.

I love these cuffed boots for their sheer versatility. Cuffed, uncuffed, jeans, skirts, etc. But at the same time, suede? Really?

And I love the slouchy boots, but honestly, how long are they going to stay in fashion?

And I ADORE these, but still, suede and snow don't exactly mix. (Although: suede, waterproofing, and snow DO mix...)

I've thought for a long time about just getting rain boots and wearing socks. You can't beat a super cute rain boot, and my feet would stay dry...

But of course, the minute I start looking at boots I get side-tracked by something like this. Cute, but not exactly what I'm going for.

Or these, super cute and completely impractical. The more I look at them, the more I want them. I've been oddly drawn to purple shoes lately.

Ah well, it'll probably end up that I'll spend all winter looking at boots, never buy a pair, and do this again next year.
